Planning on staying in and watching the parade on Thanksgiving morning? Add some fitness to your viewing and burn some calories and feel good for the rest of your holiday.
The parade is filled with bands, floats, balloons and more. Below is a list of what you might see, and a corresponding activity to do.
Marching Band – do high knees. You can do them fast or slow just keep moving.
Balloon – Russian twists. Keep heels on the ground or lift them in the air if you are looking for a challenge (keep going until the balloon flies on by)
Float – Squats (remember don’t let those knees go past your toes)
Santa’s Sleigh – jumping jacks
Commercial – 30 seconds pushups, 30 seconds plank, repeat until the commercial is over.
If you need to slow it down, replace any of the above with walking in place.
Take water breaks frequently, staying hydrated will help you later in the day as well.
