Most of us feel challenged to get in enough colorful fruits and vegetables into our day, but juices (even “green” juices) can be hidden sugar-bombs, sending our blood-sugar soaring and setting us up for a nasty crash later in the day. Enter “Ready-to-Drink Soup.” Fawen currently makes three varieties of drinkable soups: sweet potato and red lentil with cinnamon (100 calories, 4g protein, 3g fiber, 5g sugar), broccoli and cauliflower with turmeric (60 calories, 2g protein, 3g fiber, 5g sugar), and beet and cabbage with cumin (60 calories, 2g protein, 3g fiber, 5g sugar). They are all organic, vegan, and gluten-free. As far as “packaged” foods go, they are a pretty solid “on-the-go” choice, containing simple, high-quality, whole-food ingredients. Each serving does contain 5g of sugar from vegetables and coconut water, but this still compares favorably to most juices, which frequently contain 25-35g of sugar per serving. You can find Fawen soups at Wegmans, Roche Bros, T.J. Maxx & Homegoods, or online at Amazon.com or https://drinkfawen.com/.
