Waverley Oaks member Diane has been working with Personal Trainer Jason Richard, hear what she has to to say.

Q: What was your motivation for working with a Personal Trainer here at Waverley Oaks?
A: I wanted to get a bit more committed, from a health perspective, making time for myself and going to the gym consistently. I’ve never used heavy weights in a gym – I actually couldn’t even do a push-up! But I met Jason and he asked what my goals were, I told him it would be great to be able to do a push-up and he helped me be able to do that.
Q: What is/are the most powerful change(s) you’ve seen in your life since working with Jason?
A: I noticed I feel stronger! If I have something heavy I need to pick up or carry around, now I can just do it without thinking twice about it, which is a nice thing! I also notice that I push myself more and more in order to make more progress.
Q: What is the most valuable information you have learned since working with Jason?
A: To listen to your body, push yourself when you are feeling pretty good, but also don’t try to overdo it. Just be gentle in general; accept that changes take time. It’s not going to happen overnight. And I think that appreciation for things that take commitment and tenacity over time is something that everyone that trains in a gym sees. The more you do it and the more you are committed to it, the more results will come.
