“IT WAS IMPERATIVE TO ME THAT I HAD A TRAINER THAT WAS A PROFESSIONAL PERSON WHO REALLY NEW HIS STUFF AND COULD ACCOMMODATE MY TRAINING NEEDS.”
Q: What was your motivation for working with a Personal Trainer here at Waverley Oaks?
A: When I was about 40 years old, I shattered 2 discs in my lower back that required major surgery. Within 5 or so years, I started to get further degeneration of discs, but now in my upper spine. From there forward, my wife and I have worked with a personal trainer on and off for the past 25 years, but I was not satisfied with the trainers or routines. We stumbled upon WOAC and introduced ourselves to Jon. I explained my background and my needs, and he connected both my wife and I to Ron. I felt strongly that I had to get back into a regular routine so I could maintain my strength, flexibility, and stamina.
Q: What is/are the most powerful change(s) you’ve seen in your life since working with Ron?
A: With Ron, I have renewed my commitment to regularly train for the rest of my life. I can eat, drink, and do all the things that make for a full life knowing that my training routine keeps me going. With Ron’s help, we’ve not just maintained the limited flexibility that I had, but we have improved it. Likewise, we slowly increase the complexity and diversity of our exercise routine and I see the improvements in my body.
Q: What is the most valuable information you have learned since working with Ron?
A: I’ve learned that with small steps come small improvements. It is okay to take time off to travel and stop training, because you know that you will pick things back up upon your return. And communication; the necessity to have your trainer understand you, your body, and your objectives. Continue to challenge yourself.
