Q: What was your motivation for working with a Personal Trainer here at Waverley Oaks?
A: I felt like I was in a rut with my workouts. I stuck to the same routines over and over despite the tons of equipment at WOAC, and I was intimidated by the big lifting equipment and not sure where to start. I needed to kick it up a notch, get confident lifting, and start making progress again.
Q: What is/are the most powerful change(s) you’ve seen in your life since working with Shannon?
A: My posture has dramatically improved. I work at a desk all day on a computer and my back was so tight and hurt all the time and I was stuck slouching. Now that I’ve been working with Shannon, she has helped me a lot with that and my posture has changed completely! She has been attentive and comes back each week with new ideas to loosen to tightness in my chest and shoulders. I honestly cannot believe how well it has worked!
Q: What is the most valuable information you have learned since working with Shannon?
A: Definitely how to deadlift. I am obsessed with deadlifting now! It’s such an excellent compound exercise and I can’t get enough of it! I do it all the time. Before, I was totally afraid of the big power rack sessions, but I’ve learned that I don’t need to be intimidated by the power rack and big lifts. Being strong is awesome!
