Q: What was your motivation for working with a Personal Trainer here at Waverley Oaks?
A: I needed some external motivation in general, but I decided to go with a personal trainer because they are the ones that have the expertise, so I knew I would be safe and that it would be effective. Also, you get the 2 complimentary sessions at WOAC, so I thought that was awesome!
Q: What is/are the most powerful change(s) you’ve seen in your life since working with Matthew?
A: I certainly feel better about myself, that’s a fact! Some friends used to be worried about me and my lack of stamina, but now I’m able to brag to my friends about my progress. I went down a dress-size, my resting heart rate has dropped 10 points, I was able to stop one of my blood pressure medicines, and I can walk further and longer with my new increased stamina. Just a couple weeks ago Matthew even said I’ve reached a new level!
Q: What is the most valuable information you have learned since working with Matthew?
A: How important it is to maintain regular movement activities, rather than just doing bits and pieces here and there – just to keep moving and do something on a regular basis. A while back, I got very sick and had a total week of inactivity but going to see Matthew after that week was just amazing. He knows when to push and when not to push – and he never really “pushes” but he will adjust the workouts accordingly and say, “Okay now this is going to be a little harder”. His techniques are just amazing.
